Optimist Clubs build better lives & communities

Using their hands and hearts, Optimist Clubs bring adults together to make a difference in their community. They:

  • Promote leadership
  • Improve neighborhoods
  • Support local economies
  • Provide special projects
  • Bring out the best in kids

Lovingly cared for by the Auburn Optimist Club, the Santa House in Auburn, Washington helps visitors create and recall traditional Christmas memories.

Optimist Clubs can be found around the world  foy.jpg

This international service organization was founded in 1919 with the motto "Friend of Boy."  Over the years that motto was changed to "Friend of Youth," but the projects and programs began and continue with empowering citizens to serve the youth of their communities in a way most meaningful to them.

Optimist Clubs conduct programs on a local level

  • Need a playground built?playgroundbuilding.jpg
  • Need a mentor for an at-risk student?
  • Looking for a scholarship program in public speaking?
  • Is respect for law taught in your area?
  • Would you like to start a youth golf program?
  • Do you want to provide hope and generate smiles?
  • Do you want to meet new adult friends who are proactive in making their community a great place to live?

Then contact your local Optimist Club.

This playground brought together parents, families and Optimists in Meridian, Idaho.

Not every community has an Optimist Club

We want to expand the reach of Optimist Clubs, especially in the Pacific Northwest: Idaho, Oregon, Washington, Alaska and British Columbia.

Let us help you help your community.  The international office for Optimist International is in St. Louis, Missouri.  However, more than 2,000 individuals belong to the Pacific Northwest District of Optimist International.  We are your neighbors and friends and we offer assistance for new club building, locating local clubs, finding programs and helping you connect with other people that share similar interests.

If you are interested in interacting with adults to support community projects and bring out the best in kids, and want to start building an Optimist Club in your neighborhood, please send us a message today.
